Trust and Safety

Know Who You're Booking With, and What's True

Verified hosts, facts with their dates, the seller and the money named before you pay, and a fair way to settle things when they go wrong.

Verified Listings

Checked Against Evidence, by a Person

Before a host or operator can sell, a named reviewer at Agoo Travel checks who runs the place, their right to operate it, their business registration and, where the law requires one, their tourism licence. It's rechecked when a document expires or something material changes.

  • Photos must be of the rooms actually sold
  • Payout accounts must match the business
  • Fake listings and stolen photos are taken down, with the evidence kept

Dated Evidence

Every Badge Says What It Covers, and When

Each trust mark carries its scope and its date. Something checked a year ago says so and is rechecked; something only the host has told us is marked as theirs; and anything nobody has stated stays not stated.

  • Accessibility measured for a named room
  • Old evidence marked as old
  • Stated by the host, kept apart from checked

Reviews

Reviews by Agoo Reviews, Not by the Seller

The reviews on a listing are its Agoo Reviews page, shown inside Agoo Travel: the score, the count and the spread, the latest reviews and the owner's replies. Agoo Travel and the business can't edit, reorder or remove them. Reviews from bookings are marked as verified, and Agoo Reviews moderates every one under its own published rules.

  • Verified stay or verified tour, on every review from a booking
  • Owners reply in public, and can't change what a guest wrote
  • Ratings are never bought, and a settled dispute never asks for a review to change

How Disputes Work

Both Sides Heard, a Person Decides, and an Appeal

A dispute, a safety report or a damage claim becomes one case: the facts, the evidence, each side's say, and a decision written down with its reason. Either side can appeal, and a different person looks again. Each person sees only their part of it.

  • Settling a case never asks anyone to change a review
  • Urgent safety reports go first
  • The same rules for hosts and for guests

  1. ReportedRoom not as described: no hot water for two nights
  2. EvidenceGuest's photos; the host's maintenance log
  3. Each side heardThe host replied within the time given
  4. DecisionPart refund of two nights, with the reason written down
  5. AppealEither side, within 14 days, to a different person
Sample case. A review on Agoo Reviews is never needed to get help, and settling a case never asks anyone to change their stars.
The Rules

What We Hold Ourselves To

  1. Verification is earned, never bought

No plan, payment or partnership buys a badge, a better rank or a better score.

  2. A badge says what it covers

Verified identity proves who runs a place. It isn't a rating of the stay.

  3. Unknown stays unknown

Not stated is never shown as yes or as no.

  4. Ranking is explained

Paid placements sit apart and are labelled. Nkonso's own tours get no help.

  5. Reviews come from real stays

On Agoo Reviews, shown on each listing, with reviews from bookings marked as verified.

  6. Ratings are never bought

Agoo Reviews moderates every review. No host, operator or plan can buy, hide or remove one.

  7. Pay only through Agoo Travel

A host asking you to pay them directly, off the platform, is a warning sign. Tell us.

  8. Reports are weighed, not counted

A pile of reports never removes anyone by itself. A trained person decides, and says why.

  9. Your details stay yours

Your dates, address and travel plans are never used for marketing or shared with other products.
